YouTube creators are reshaping entertainment and giving brands a front-row seat
A recent post from YouTube explores how YouTube creators are no longer just digital stars. They are becoming major forces in entertainment, with many successfully moving from online content to feature films and mainstream cultural influence. According to YouTube, 73% of surveyed Gen Z viewers in the U.S. prefer content from their favorite creators over traditional studio-produced shows and movies.
Creators are building highly engaged communities that actively support their projects. The trend goes beyond filmmaking. Creator-led formats such as Brittany Broski’s “Royal Court,” “Hot Ones,” and Kareem Rahma’s “Subway Takes” are redefining entertainment and attracting industry recognition. Their success highlights how creators can develop original ideas, test them with audiences, and scale them into larger cultural moments.
The post highlights that creator-led entertainment is increasingly shaping culture. This makes YouTube creators valuable partners for brands looking to stay relevant and connect with engaged audiences.
Google urges retailers to prepare Product Feeds for an AI-driven shopping season
Google is encouraging merchants to upgrade their product data ahead of the holiday season as AI-powered shopping experiences become more conversational and multimodal. New Merchant Center capabilities are designed to help retailers provide richer product information and improve visibility across evolving search experiences.
A key update is the addition of six conversational attributes, including Q&A content, variant details, document links, related products, popularity rankings, and item group titles. These fields help merchants add context beyond basic specifications, making products easier for AI systems to understand and recommend.
Google is also emphasizing the importance of visual content. The company encourages merchants to use multiple high-resolution images, lifestyle photos, and short-form videos to support multimodal searches, where users combine text and images to find products. According to Google, one in six AI Mode searches is now multimodal.
Ad-supported streaming gains ground
According to ADWEEK, ad-supported streaming continued to strengthen its position in Q2 2026. This is based on Nielsen’s latest Ad-Supported Gauge report. The category increased its share of viewing to 48.2%, reflecting growing acceptance of advertising among streaming audiences and continued pressure on traditional TV.
Notably, broadcast and cable still accounted for a combined 51.8% of ad-supported viewing. Cable remained stable at 25.2%, while broadcast fell to 26.6% from 28.2% in the previous quarter. The decline came despite major live sports events, including the NBA Finals and the early stages of the World Cup.
The continued rise of ad-supported streaming highlights where audience attention is moving. In short, streaming platforms are an important channel for brands looking to reach engaged viewers at scale.

AI is changing the rules of international SEO and brand authority
Search Engine Journal’s new post discusses a new challenge that is emerging for global brands as AI-powered search becomes more influential. The fact is that expertise and authority do not automatically work the same way across markets. Some companies might have strong credibility in one country, AI systems often require clear, localized evidence before recognizing that expertise in another location.
Traditionally, international SEO focused on translating content and adapting it for local audiences. But AI models evaluate authority differently. They may struggle to recognize local credentials, certifications, professional organizations, and market-specific expertise if those signals are not presented in ways the models understand.
The issue becomes more pronounced for global brands operating multiple regional websites. Even when content is localized and reviewed by local experts, AI can sometimes treat similar content across markets as a single global entity, reducing the visibility of distinct local expertise.
As AI influences search visibility and recommendations, the post emphasizes that brands need to go beyond localization and ensure their content clearly reflects their expertise in every market they serve.

Google launches Gemini 3.5 Transcribe to power clean voice interactions
Google has introduced Gemini 3.5 Transcribe, its most advanced speech-to-text model to date. The model is built to power more natural and accurate voice experiences across apps, devices, and enterprise tools. The model is designed to go beyond traditional transcription by understanding context, cleaning up speech, and converting spoken language into polished text.
Available through both real-time streaming and pre-recorded audio APIs, Gemini 3.5 Transcribe supports more than 85 languages, custom vocabulary, speaker identification, and automatic formatting. Additionally, it can also handle interruptions, self-corrections, filler words, and complex terminology while maintaining high accuracy in noisy environments.
According to Google, the model significantly improves on its previous transcription technology while also delivering lower word error rates and faster transcription speeds.
Google Labs announces a new collaborative vibe coding experiment, Play With Putty
Google Labs has unveiled Play with Putty, an experimental project exploring how AI can make digital creation more collaborative, interactive, and seamless. The platform is designed around real-time building, allowing multiple people to work together simultaneously while AI helps maintain creative momentum.
A key feature is real-time collaboration, enabling users to make changes together with instant syncing and multiplayer editing built into the experience. The goal is to reduce friction and make collaborative vibe coding feel more natural.
Google announces industry-focused solutions with Gemini Enterprise for Legal & Financial workflows
Google is expanding Gemini Enterprise with new industry-specific solutions starting with solutions for legal and financial services. Both Gemini Enterprise for Legal and Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services are now available in preview.
The legal solution is designed for law firms and in-house teams, with capabilities covering contract review, legal research, regulatory monitoring, data discovery, NDA drafting, and document redaction.
For financial institutions, Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services includes a Financial Research agent with more than 50 foundational skills. Both solutions combine domain-specific skills, secure data connections, agentic workflows, and partner integrations under centralized governance. According to Google, customer data and outputs remain private and are not used to train its foundation models.
Anthropic gives Claude its own browser for standalone web tasks
Anthropic has added a built-in browser to Claude Cowork, allowing Claude to navigate websites directly from its desktop app. It can open pages, read content, click through sites, fill out forms, and collect information from web portals without needing a browser extension.
The browser runs separately from the user’s own browser. Additionally, Claude does not access tabs, bookmarks, or passwords unless users choose to transfer specific site logins. Banking, email, and single sign-on sites are excluded from login transfers by default.
The feature is rolling out to Pro, Max, and Team users on Claude’s desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Enterprise customers can enable it through organization settings.
Anthropic unifies memory across Claude Chat & Cowork
Claude now uses the same memory across chat and Cowork. This means that conversations and tasks can transfer context between them. Therefore, users no longer need to repeatedly explain details such as project priorities, deadlines, or preferences.
Additionally, Claude can also update its memory during conversations. Users can pause or reset memory and review saved information through a list of topic-based files in Memory settings. Each entry can be edited or deleted, so changes apply across future conversations.
According to Anthropic, sensitive topics, including health, race, religion, politics, and gender identity, are excluded from memory by default. Users can choose to allow sensitive topics to be remembered, with a notice shown whenever Claude saves one. Certain information, including government identification numbers, criminal history, and immigration status, remains excluded.
ChatGPT Work upgrades Scheduled Tasks with event triggers
ChatGPT is expanding its scheduled tasks feature with new ways to trigger automated responses. Plus and Pro users can now set tasks to react when something changes in Slack, Gmail, or GitHub, instead of relying only on fixed schedules.
Scheduled tasks are also rolling out to Free users. They can create up to three tasks, bringing the feature to a wider group of users. OpenAI is also adding task sharing. Users can share their favorite tasks with others, who can then customize and use them for their own needs.
The updates give ChatGPT more flexibility in handling recurring work and responding to changes across connected services.
Google announces new voice-driven productivity features in Gemini Live
Google is enhancing Gemini Live with a range of agentic features designed to help users complete tasks through natural voice conversations. The update integrates Gemini Live with Spark and Google’s AI agent. These updates allow users to set up multi-step workflows that can continue running in the background across Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, and the web.
The new capabilities include turning spoken ideas into structured documents, managing recurring tasks such as meal planning, and generating grocery lists from saved content. Gemini Live can also deliver a spoken Daily Brief that combines key updates from Gmail and Calendar into a single summary.
In addition to these, Google is adding hands-free Gmail management. Users can search, summarize, archive, star, or delete emails using voice commands. The update also expands Gemini’s memory through Personal Intelligence, enabling it to pull information from past conversations and connected Google services such as Gmail, Photos, Search, and YouTube to provide more personalized assistance.
Social Media Feature Updates and Algorithm Changes
Instagram announces the “First Draft” feature
Instagram is rolling out a new feature called First Draft that automatically creates an initial edit of a Reel by trimming selected clips and removing pauses. The tool intuitively identifies key moments and assembles a rough cut in under 10 seconds. This helps creators spend less time on manual editing.
Available first on iPhone, First Draft can be accessed through Instagram’s camera while recording or from the Reels gallery after selecting multiple video clips. Creators can then review and refine the automatically generated edit before publishing.
While automated video editing tools already exist in apps like CapCut and Adobe Firefly, Instagram is bringing the functionality directly into its platform. This reduces the need for creators to export footage to third-party editing apps and streamlines the content creation process.

X announces native Lead Gen ads
X has launched Lead Gen Ads, a new advertising format that allows businesses to capture customer information directly within the platform. The feature uses a native form that opens with a single tap, enabling users to submit their details without leaving X.
To reduce friction, X says future lead forms can be automatically pre-filled after a user’s first submission. The company believes this will help improve conversion rates, increase lead quality, and lower acquisition costs by eliminating redirects and external landing pages.
Lead Gen Ads support multiple campaign objectives, including demo bookings, appointment requests, email signups, waitlists, webinar registrations, event attendance, and quote requests. The format is available across image, video, carousel, and Timeline Takeover ads.
Advertisers can manage campaigns through X’s Ads Manager using a dedicated Leads objective. Captured leads are stored in a new Leads Center and can be exported or sent directly to CRM systems. The product also includes built-in privacy and consent controls.
WhatsApp strengthens account protection with new security upgrades
WhatsApp is rolling out several new security features that give users greater control over their accounts. This helps prevent unauthorized access.
One of the biggest changes is an upgrade to two-step verification. Instead of relying on a six-digit PIN, users can now create a stronger password that supports longer combinations of letters, numbers, and special characters, making accounts more difficult to compromise.
The platform is also providing more context for calls from unknown numbers on Android. Users will now see additional details, such as whether a caller is located in another country and whether they share any WhatsApp groups. The added information is designed to help people make more informed decisions before answering unexpected calls.
X releases Chat API for end-to-end encrypted messaging
X has rolled out its new X Chat API, allowing developers to integrate client-side encrypted Direct Messages into their applications. Built to handle privacy on the user’s device, the update routes only ciphertext through X’s servers, ensuring the platform itself cannot read plaintext message contents.
The integration relies on the Chat XDK, which manages cryptographic key generation, message signing, and decryption across multiple languages. Developers can handle real-time delivery using webhooks or streaming events, alongside endpoints for media uploads, typing indicators, and group chats.
This update is significant for brands because it opens up secure, private communication channels on X, allowing businesses and platform tools to handle sensitive customer interactions directly without compromising user privacy.
