Can you believe we are at the end of 2021 already? This year was special, challenging, and interesting for us at Kimp, to say the least. As the marketing world developed, so did our brand and our range of design services for our customers.
Before we present you with our year in review for 2021, we would like to begin by thanking the most important part of the Kimp ecosystem: our customers. Yes, without our customers’ continued support and patronage, this year would not have been what it is.
They inspire us, motivate us, and are our biggest pillars of strength. Thank you to every one of you for giving us the opportunity to be a part of your journey.
We would also be remiss if we did not take this opportunity to mention the significant contribution of the Kimp Team in making Kimp the brand what it is today. This includes our amazing Graphic Designers, Illustrators, Motion Graphics Designers, UI Designers, Marketing and Content Teams and Administrative Teams.
What started off as a spark of inspiration has become a dream come true because of the unconditional support from each and every one of you.
Last, but certainly not least, a big shout out to our peers, well-wishers, and colleagues in the industry for their continued support, honest feedback and encouragement to keep building Kimp throughout the year. We hope that 2022 only brings better and bigger things for all of us.

Customers are the backbone of any organization. Kimp is no exception. In a day and age, where unlimited design services are grabbing customers’ attention, we are thankful for every brand that allowed us to work with them in 2021.
It is a testament to the growth of marketing and the everlasting impact of design in marketing campaigns that Kimp supported brands, marketers, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit organizations from over 60 countries in 2021. This is an increase from 2020, and we take it to be a sign of returning normalcy in the business world even amidst the ongoing pandemic.
These brands came to us with a multitude of graphic design and video design service requests, and we are glad that we helped them in their endeavors. Whether they were preparing to launch a new product or brand, reopen after a lockdown or kick off new marketing campaigns.
Ever since we evolved into a subscription-based design service, Kimp has always wanted to be a worldwide service provider. While this felt like a very lofty dream in early days, we are pleased to share that 2021 saw us making even more headway towards our goal.
Standing true to the fact that in a turbulent and chaotic world, it is media and marketing that kept us connected in 2021; we saw customers from different parts of the world reach out to us.

Unlimited Graphic Design and Video Design by Kimp in 2021
Even though the idea of unlimited graphic design services has been around for a while, customers are still skeptical of the word “unlimited”. Can it really be that much better than having an in-house designer or working with a freelancer or agency?
Well, it may sound too good to be true but in our best of Kimp in 2021 review, we bring to you a glimpse of the potential our unlimited design subscriptions hold.
For starters we want to share just how much value a Kimp client can receive with a subscription. Let’s take the example of one of our Kimp Graphics clients. In 2021, Kimp delivered a whopping 470 graphic designs for them. That includes multiple iterations AND revisions. Considering that the subscription for this client ran for 12 months, the cost per graphic design comes down to about $15 a pop.
With the flexibility to request designs across a wide range of design categories, a Kimp Graphics subscription can really add a lot of value.
With Kimp Video, the highest number of videos created for a single brand in 2021 touched 228. Again is no mean feat given the complexities of the average video project.
Doing the math again, with a 12-month subscription, the cost per video (including revisions and different iterations) comes to an unbelievable $30.

Now onto the juicy part! We are a design company, yes? So naturally, our year in review has to feature our most popular categories. We believe that these categories also provide an insight into how digital and offline marketing fared in 2021 for brands.
Unsurprisingly, 2021 was the year of social media posts and videos for marketing designs. Given how vastly video content has exploded and social media dominated most marketing budgets in 2021, this is perfectly in line with what one would expect.
But logo designs too featured in one of Kimp’s most popular design categories in 2021. It is great to know that founders and entrepreneurs are blazing the path in these challenging times too and providing the due importance to branding as it so rightly deserves.
Logo designs have always been a forte of Kimp, and 2021 was no exception.

In 2021, we also saw Kimp getting abundant love from our friends in the industry with quite a few features in leading websites.
We began the year with Clutch announcing Kimp to be one of the top 500 B2B leaders in Canada. It was a great honor to be counted amongst many notable names, and our co-founder expressed the same here:

An excerpt from the interview:
Since starting Kimp, what have been your main lessons?
I’ve always valued my team and their many strengths, but in the past few years, I’ve come to realize just how powerful it is when we work together. There were so many moments that I wasn’t sure if we’d make it. But we pulled through and pushed each other to keep going. I wouldn’t say this is a new lesson learned since launching Kimp, but once that’s been reinforced. Your team matters so much more than your vision. Because without the first the second is going nowhere.
Another lesson that I’d say is tied to launching Kimp is around business growth, development, and innovation. In my previous businesses, we were often reacting to our clients’ needs. But with Kimp I’m always pushing to see how we can innovate and optimize our processes and offerings. If we hadn’t pivoted, Kimp would have never existed. And we would have just lost everything after 15 years of running our design businesses. But in going beyond what we thought we could do, we’ve realized more of what we can. And I’m going to keep pushing that ceiling.

Forbes believes that posters and other traditional marketing methods have a little more life left in them even in this digital-centric marketing world. With a holistic approach and a nuanced design, results become inevitable.
We are glad to hear this because we designed many interesting posters for our clients here in 2021 and we want to continue to do so. These edgy, interesting, and completely digital-friendly posters were some of our favorite designs in 2021.
A marketing technique that is seeing a revived uptake from the folks in the marketing world is trade show marketing. It is a great way to share your brand with industry colleagues in a more personal manner.

Information is gold in marketing and what better way to present them than brochures? Especially if you’re a professional service or a local business.
Brochure designs help brands present their information in a catchy, engaging, and aesthetic manner. They are the offline equivalent of social media carousel posts and work brilliantly in networking events and retail environments.

The hospitality sector took a major hit in 2020 but made a good comeback in 2021. As this sector looks to renew its lost business and bring the patrons in, they need all the leverage they can have.
Menu designs seem to be the most sought-after marketing material for this industry currently, with Kimp designing quite a few of them in 2021. Menus are a great medium for the business to express their personality, attract clientele, and set themselves apart from the competition.

Audio content took over the world in 2021. And all social media platforms are either implementing or planning to implement an audio content section in the coming year. Spotify grew immensely because of the growing popularity of podcasts, and it was definitely one of the top content consumed in 2021.
Podcast Designs, whether cover art, logos, or other promotional designs, helped customers to stand out in the vast volume of podcasts launching every day and also reel listeners in with a sneak peek of what to expect.
Okay, yes, we know you see quite a few images here. Let us explain. Social media posts were one of our most popular design categories, and the sheer volume of the requests that came in astounded us. Arguably, social media is one of the best tools for small businesses to connect with their audience and grow their brand organically.
Most of these platforms are highly visual in nature, and more often than not, it is the design that helps a brand win an edge over its competition.
Given the high stakes, and high volume of requests, it is not surprising that the Kimp Team got to explore the widest range of design styles in this category. From minimalist designs to color pop, we saw it all:
In 2021 too, email marketing remained a marketers’ favorite with an unprecedented 420% ROI. But like every marketing channel in 2021, this too needed great visuals, trendy designs, and an ability to reel the subscriber in and make them scroll. Animes, cartoons, and gaming are not the only places where custom illustrations come in handy. On the contrary, it is the marketing sphere where we have been seeing quite a few illustrated works. Yes, right from logos to landing pages and everything in between illustrations seem to be 2021’s golden child.
